About Us

  • I first had the idea for Shelter at Home when I learned how many pets are surrendered to shelters because their owners can no longer afford to care for them. What a heartbreaking decision to have to make, and one that shouldn’t be necessary.

  • So I decided to launch this line of home décor products and gifts to support no-kill animal shelters—especially groups that offer support to people who are trying to keep their pets at home. Groups like Columbus Humane, which offers low-cost veterinary care and a food bank.  Or Project Safe Pet, which helps provide (among other things) fencing for homeowners so their dogs aren’t tied to a chain, and low- or no-cost spay and neuter programs.

About our Products

We’re a tiny shop. Every piece is designed and made in our South Carolina workshop.  Production is limited, and we prioritize quality over quantity.  When you purchase from us you’re getting something special, and I hope you feel great about the product and the purpose!

I am especially proud of the quality embroidery in our pieces.  You can buy cheaper products, of course, but the difference in workmanship and materials in our products is something I work very hard to maintain. I want you to enjoy your purchase for years.
